1st EA TRAINING SCHOOL ON HUMAN RIGHTS, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND ACCESS TO MEDICINES
SUMMER SCHOOL ON GOVERNANCE AND DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA
In partnership with the Centre of African Studies (CAS) at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS)-University of London and with the support from the Mo Ibrahim Foundation the Human Rights & Peace Centre will convene a Summer School on the subject of “Governance and Development in Africa” from 18th -23rd April, 2010 at Imperial Resort Beach Hotel, Entebbe. The School will draw participants from across the African Continent. Participants will include policy makers, legislators, academics, development workers, human rights activists and journalists.
The First Uganda Annual State Of Governance Conference
The First Uganda Annual State of Governance Conference took place on Friday November 24, 2006 at Hotel Africana, Kampala. The Conference was organized as part of Human Rights and Peace Centre (HURIPEC)’s mandate to facilitate and promote multi-stakeholder dialogues on emerging public policy issues in the areas of governance, peace and human rights.
The major objective of the Conference was to promote open dialogue among a multiplicity of stakeholders on the different governance issues that have arisen during the course of 2006. Click here to read the Concept note The conference report

CHANGES IN JOURNAL PRICES
This is to inform you that effective 2007,subscription rates to the East African Journal of Peace and Human Rights shall be changing as follows:
AFRICA
Individuals - $35 per issue
Institutions - $45 per issue
REST OF THE WORLD
Individuals - $50 per issue
Institutions - $70 per issue
(All prices quoted are inclusive of postage and packaging and the prices are per issue, since this is a bi-annual publication, a single volume of two issues is double the quoted prices)
Please note that these changes in prices do not affect Volume 12 #2 (2006) of the Journal which we are about to dispatch. The new prices come into effect starting with Volume 13(2007).
Furthermore, our international subscribers will be required to wire the money for the Journals directly into our account, as cheques will no longer be used as a mode of payment. When the money has been wired to our account, you will be required to send us an email with the details of the transaction on the email address gnakasi@law.mak.ac.ug
We therefore advice you to take note of these changes.
